A traditional Iranian tribal Balouch weave rug
The Balouch rugs are more textured and have a very different weave than any of the other Gabbeh rugs we have in inventory. These rugs were first handcrafted by Beloutch nomads in eastern Iran, which is where they got their name and are now made in southwest Iran by the Afshar nomads. These rugs are highly textured and have a lot of depth which is achieved through a unique weaving technique that includes part knotting and part weaving. This Balouch Special rug is made of 100% Persian wool and dyed using natural vegetable based dyes. The white and red fields are adorned with tribal symbols in accent colors of blue, yellow, orange and beige. This rug measures 5'9"x8'0" and is ready for immediate shipment.
