Handcrafted Iranian Kashkuli oversized rug in moss green
This Kashkuli oversized area rug was handcrafted in Southwestern Iran and purchased by James Tufenkian before the 2010 embargo. The Kashkuli name comes from the Qashqai weavers that create these one of a kind works of art, Kashkuli rugs feature high knot density, low pile, and plush lanolin-rich Persian wool that just begs to be touched. The vibrant color in this design is achieved through all natural vegetable based dyes. The overall concept of this design is very simple, blocks of red, orange, yellow and ivory dot the perimeter for a subtle and playful border design with the Tree of Life symbol intermixed between borders and in the field. The simple yet richly variegated moss greed field yields a depth of unparalleled beauty enriched by the natural qualities of the wool and natural dye. This Kashkuli rug measures 9'7"x13'0" making it a perfect piece for a dining room, living room, bedroom or home office.
