Traditional Design

Traditional rug designs are likely what you think of when you think of a “Persian carpet”. Strong borders, bright colors, and intricate patterns of design elements that have appeared in hand woven carpets for hundreds of years. Tufenkian’s traditional collection features antique and rare carpets, and designs inspired by the hundreds of years of carpet production. Our modern interpretation of Traditional style is done with respect for history, and the goal of making the old new again.

Transitional Designs

Clean and streamlined, rugs in the transitional style are designs that never go out of fashion. Transitional rugs share elements of modern and traditional carpets, but with a focus on style for a lifetime rather than a single room design. Traditional design with modern palettes, an emphasis on texture, or neutral and monochrome designs are elements of transitional rugs.
